Loft Conversion Process
If you’re considering a loft conversion in London, the process can be a little different than in other parts of the country. There are a lot of regulations and rules that need to be followed in order to ensure that your conversion is safe and up to code.
That’s why it’s important to work with a team of experienced professionals who know the ropes. The team at Llukaj have been helping people convert their lofts for years, and we know what needs to be done to make sure the process goes as smoothly as possible.
Any Inquiry?
We’ll start by sending out a site surveyor to your home. They’ll discuss your ideas for the conversion and take into account any existing restrictions or limitations. Based on this information , they’ll draft up some initial plans for the conversion.
Once you’ve approved the plans, next, the construction phase begins. You will get to know your building team, who will act as your project manager throughout the process. This usually takes around 8 weeks to complete, but can vary depending on the size and complexity of the conversion.
Once it’s finished, you’ll have a brand new loft space to enjoy! Contact us today to get started on your own loft conversion.
Week by Week Overview
The following is a breakdown of the week-by-week construction plan for your loft, which will take approximately 8 weeks to finish.
Week 1 – Scaffolding & Structural Skeleton.
The supplies will reach the site in the first week, and scaffolding will be erected around the home. The roof will be removed in one portion or all of it depending on the sort of loft conversion.
Week 2 – Staircase, Plumbing, Electricity.
The stairwell will be constructed in the second week, linking the new loft space to the lower level. At this time, as well, electrical and plumbing work will begin.
Week 3 – Windows, Insulation, Plastering.
The windows for your conversion will be delivered and dropped into the structure during week three. Your loft will be insulated and then plastered over to create the basic inside space after these are put in place.
Week 4 – Plumbing, Electrics, Carpentry.
At week four, the entire plumbing is connected, including any radiators or bathroom attachments. The lighting is completed, with full electrical installation proceeding as planned.
Week 5 – Roof, Decoration, Tiling.
Your loft conversion will be almost complete at this point. The final adjustments to the roofing section will be made, with the tiles being locked in place. On the inside, the area will be decorated with painting and tiling as soon as possible. The bathroom’s rest of will be installed, making it liveable space.
Week 6-8 – Finishing Touches, Certificates, Completion.
The loft conversion is now in its final weeks. The space will be cleaned up and minor touches added at the end of this week. A snagging list will be compiled to send to the construction team for correction, and building control will give the go-ahead on the project. You’ll receive a completion certificate at this point.
